THE MEDIC-CHAPLAIN WHO COULD NOT FORGET. -- On July 26, 1970, at a time when "Vietnam" was not the most popular word in the American vocabulary, Father, at his Catholic Traditionalist Movement headquarters in Westbury, Long Island, erected the first public monument in New York State to honor those who fought in Vietnam, a fact which earned him the personal thanks of the then U.S. President Richard Nixon.
